How does Cookiebot pricing compare with CookieConsentHQ?

Cookiebot charges according to the number of subpages on each domain, while CookieConsentHQ charges according to monthly pageviews. That difference decides which one costs less for a particular website.

Cookiebot assigns a tier automatically from its scan of the site's subpages. You cannot pick a smaller tier when the scanned page count exceeds its allowance.

CookieConsentHQ lets you choose a plan by monthly traffic. Its Free plan covers 25,000 monthly pageviews, Starter covers 150,000 and Growth covers 750,000.

The tables below use list prices checked on 20 October 2026. Cookiebot prices are in euros excluding VAT, billed monthly, and CookieConsentHQ prices are in US dollars.

CookieConsentHQ plan What it covers Monthly price
Free 25k pageviews, 1 site $0
Starter 150k pageviews $8
Growth 750k pageviews $18
Business 5M pageviews $39
Agency 25 sites, 10M pageviews pooled $79
Cookiebot plan What it covers Monthly price
Free Up to 50 subpages, 1 domain EUR 0
Premium Lite Under 50 subpages, 1 domain EUR 7
Premium Small 50 to 349 subpages, per domain EUR 15
Premium Medium 350 to 3,499 subpages, per domain EUR 30
Premium Large 3,500 to 6,999 subpages, per domain EUR 50
Premium Extra Large 7,000 or more subpages, per domain EUR 90

The two tables measure different things, so no row in one matches a row in the other. The worked examples below show what a given site would pay on each.

What would a 400-page blog cost?

A 400-page blog with 60,000 monthly pageviews fits CookieConsentHQ Starter at $8/month. Cookiebot places the same website in its Medium tier at EUR 30/month because it has between 350 and 3,499 subpages.

Cookiebot's price follows the site's page count, while CookieConsentHQ's follows its traffic. Adding pages without adding monthly pageviews does not move a site into a higher CookieConsentHQ plan.

The opposite case matters too. A website with 40 subpages and 500,000 monthly pageviews fits Cookiebot Premium Lite at EUR 7/month under its subpage rules. CookieConsentHQ would need Growth at $18/month for that traffic.

The prices use different currencies, so this is not a currency conversion. It still shows why a site with few pages and heavy traffic can favor Cookiebot.

Use the pricing page to compare CookieConsentHQ's pageview allowances before deciding.

What happens when a website exceeds its plan limits?

CookieConsentHQ keeps its banner and automatic blocking of known trackers running after the monthly pageview allowance is used up. Cookiebot states that its Premium plans have no traffic limitations, though its subpage-based tier is assigned automatically.

CookieConsentHQ does not charge overage fees. On Free, new consent records pause after 25,000 monthly pageviews until the following month. On paid plans, the dashboard shows an upgrade prompt.

Cookiebot's free trial lasts 14 days. Its pricing page says the banner stops displaying after the trial unless the account upgrades.

The two limits work differently. CookieConsentHQ has pageview allowances with set behavior past the limit; Cookiebot prices by scanned subpages without a traffic allowance.

If your traffic swings sharply but your page count stays small, Cookiebot's model may be more predictable for your website.

CookieConsentHQ scans monthly on Free, weekly on Starter and daily on Growth and higher plans. Cookiebot Premium includes automated monthly scans, with daily scanning for an extra EUR 99/month.

CookieConsentHQ's scanner uses Chromium to crawl public pages, loading each page before consent and the first few again after acceptance. It covers 50 pages per scan on Free and 150 on paid plans.

Cookiebot Premium includes CSV export of consents and keeps consent records for up to 12 months. CookieConsentHQ includes CSV export on every plan, with one-year retention on Free, three years on Starter and five years on Growth and higher plans.

Cookiebot Free offers manual blocking only, while CookieConsentHQ includes automatic blocking of known trackers on Free.

CookieConsentHQ provides seven banner languages and supports Google Consent Mode v2, GPC and automatic blocking of known trackers on every plan. Cookiebot Premium supports more than 47 languages, geotargeting, GPC, Google Consent Mode and IAB TCF 2.4.

CookieConsentHQ's languages are English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese. Its custom geographic rules start on Starter and can target countries, US states and Canadian provinces.

Cookiebot Free supports one language and consent expiration of up to one month.

CookieConsentHQ does not support IAB TCF or IAB GPP, is not a Google-certified CMP and does not generate policies.

The Consent Mode v2 page explains CookieConsentHQ's Google signal controls without treating Consent Mode support as certification.

When is Cookiebot the better choice?

Cookiebot is the stronger choice when your site needs IAB TCF 2.4, a Google-certified CMP or a banner in a language outside CookieConsentHQ's seven. It can also cost less for high-traffic sites with relatively few subpages.

Its pricing suits a small set of pages that receives a lot of visits. Premium Lite's EUR 7 monthly price follows the low subpage count and does not rise with traffic.

Cookiebot's Premium plans also bring regional targeting and banners in many languages. Those may matter more to you than CookieConsentHQ's longer consent record retention or its more frequent included scans.

Which one should I choose?

Choose CookieConsentHQ when your website's page count makes Cookiebot's assigned tier expensive compared with your monthly traffic. Choose Cookiebot when its subpage pricing, language coverage or IAB support fits your requirements better.

CookieConsentHQ offers Starter at $8/month for 150,000 pageviews and Growth at $18/month for 750,000. Both include automatic blocking, GPC, all four Consent Mode v2 signals and CSV consent export.
