How does iubenda pricing compare with CookieConsentHQ?

Both iubenda and CookieConsentHQ use pageview allowances, but they handle extra traffic differently. iubenda charges for extra pageviews on paid plans, while CookieConsentHQ keeps the banner working without overage fees.

iubenda's prices below were checked on 20 October 2026. They are billed yearly, shown as monthly amounts in euros excluding VAT. CookieConsentHQ's prices are monthly, in US dollars.

What would 150,000 monthly pageviews cost?

CookieConsentHQ Starter covers 150,000 monthly pageviews for $8. On iubenda, the options are Ultimate at EUR 79.99, or Advanced at EUR 19.99 plus EUR 5 in extra pageview charges.

The Advanced calculation:

  1. 150,000 pageviews minus 50,000 included leaves 100,000 extra pageviews.
  2. At EUR 0.05 per 1,000, that is 100 blocks costing EUR 5.
  3. Advanced therefore comes to EUR 24.99 a month before VAT.

CookieConsentHQ Starter stays at $8 for that traffic. The figures use different currencies and billing terms, so this page does not claim a converted saving.

The example shows how iubenda's per-pageview charges change the total, even when a lower plan keeps working above its allowance.

What happens if traffic passes the included pageviews?

iubenda keeps running above its paid-plan allowance and charges EUR 0.05 for every extra 1,000 pageviews. CookieConsentHQ also keeps the banner on past the limit but does not charge for extra pageviews.

CookieConsentHQ's automatic blocking of known trackers stays active past the allowance. On Free, new consent records pause once 25,000 monthly pageviews are reached and resume the following month.

Paid CookieConsentHQ plans show an upgrade prompt in the dashboard, and the banner stays on without overage fees.

iubenda's charges follow the number of pageviews above the allowance. That may suit a site owner who prefers to stay on one plan and pay for measured extra traffic.

The pricing page explains CookieConsentHQ's allowances and annual pricing, which is ten times the monthly amount.

CookieConsentHQ scans monthly on Free, weekly on Starter and daily on Growth and above. iubenda Essentials includes monthly scans, and Ultimate includes hourly scans.

CookieConsentHQ scans public website pages with Chromium. It loads pages before consent and revisits the first few after acceptance, covering up to 50 pages per Free scan or 150 per paid scan.

iubenda Ultimate also includes analytics and consent recovery. CookieConsentHQ's Growth plan includes consent-rate A/B testing and new-tracker alerts.

Both keep consent records, with different retention. iubenda describes a permanent consent log, while CookieConsentHQ keeps records for one year on Free, three years on Starter and five years on Growth and higher plans.

The consent log page explains what CookieConsentHQ stores, including a consent ID, UTC timestamp, categories, region and banner configuration version.

iubenda includes Google Consent Mode on every plan, including Free, and is a Google-certified CMP partner with IAB TCF 2.2 validation. CookieConsentHQ supports all four Consent Mode v2 signals on every plan but is not Google-certified and does not support IAB TCF.

iubenda Advanced includes all its languages and geo-targeting. CookieConsentHQ provides seven languages and custom regional rules from Starter.

The CookieConsentHQ languages are English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese.

CookieConsentHQ also includes Global Privacy Control support and automatic blocking of known trackers on every plan. iubenda's pricing page does not list those two items, so this page does not compare them.

The Google Consent Mode v2 page explains CookieConsentHQ's default commands, updates and monitoring.

When is iubenda the better choice?

iubenda is the better choice when you need generated legal documents, IAB TCF support or a Google-certified CMP. Its larger set of languages and Ultimate's hourly scanning may also justify the extra cost for some websites.

Its privacy and cookie policy generators are part of the product. CookieConsentHQ does not generate legal policies, so you handle those documents separately.

iubenda's permanent consent log may suit you better than CookieConsentHQ's fixed one-year, three-year and five-year retention periods.

A site that needs a Google-certified CMP should not replace iubenda with CookieConsentHQ just because CookieConsentHQ supports Consent Mode v2.

Should I switch from iubenda?

Consider CookieConsentHQ when you want a fixed pageview allowance, no charges for extra traffic and the consent features listed here. Stay with iubenda when its document generation, certification or other capabilities are necessary for your website.

CookieConsentHQ Starter provides 150,000 pageviews and weekly scans for $8/month. Growth provides 750,000 pageviews, daily scans and five-year consent records for $18/month.

CookieConsentHQ cannot import settings or consent records from iubenda. Moving means setting up the new banner and keeping your existing records separately.

Before choosing, run the free checker on one public page to see cookies set before consent, hardcoded tags and Consent Mode defaults.
